Not long ago Google introduced their new product, Google Wave. The product was introduced to a small group of users who, on their turn, could invite other people. In a few hours the Google Invite was the most spoken thing on Twitter.
Google Wave is based on communication. The Google Wave team found out that two of the most spectacular successes in digital communication, email and instant messaging, were all about communication. We all know that since then the smaller successes on the internet were all about bloggin, wikis, co-creation and so on. With this knowledge the Google Wave team worked on Google Wave the last few years.
A “wave” is equal parts conversation and document, where people can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able yet to work with Google Wave. After seeing this video I still think Google is bringing the internet to a next level step by step. Cooperation has never been this easy and clear. I’m curious about the next few months in which more and more people will join Google Wave. What will their reactions be?
Will Google, again, rock the digital world?
