<p>Just came across the new book &#8220;Life, Inc.&#8221; by Douglas Rushkoff. I haven&#8217;t read it but is about how we (or at least the American society he writes about) have become disconnected from the real value of life and creating and trading things and have succumbed to the rules of corporations. </p>
<p>A wee bit of communism or even anarchism, but the premise rings kinda true. If nothing else, it will probably get you thinking. </p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a teaser video where the author explains the idea of the book:</p>
<p><object width="500" height="375"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=4655092&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=00ADEF&amp;fullscreen=1" /><embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=4655092&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=00ADEF&amp;fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="500" height="375"></embed></object>
<p>Life Inc the Movie</p>
<p>In Life Inc., award-winning writer, documentary filmmaker, and scholar Douglas Rushkoff traces how corporations went from a convenient legal fiction to the dominant fact of contemporary life. Indeed as Rushkoff shows, most Americans have so willingly adopted the values of corporations that theyre no longer even aware of it.</p>
